Lamido: Talk about Defection is Bunkum

Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has dismissed reports that he has been involved in defection talks with the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing Monday’s speculative reports on his meeting with the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi as mere “bunkum”.
Lamido, who is the chairman of the Presidential Campaign of the PDP in the North-west zone, had held a meeting with Amaechi, who doubles as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, leading to speculation that he was in talks with the latter in order to defect to APC.

Nigerian stand-up comedian Omo Baba has gotten a lot of digs about his facial features and more often than not he uses it as a source of some of his jokes on stage.
In a chat with Telegraph Newspaper however, the comedian who recently proposed to his girlfriend of six years shared his most embarrassing moment and according to him it was a few years back when a fan told him he was ugly.

Obama Raises Taxes for Rich & Provides Tax Relief to Middle Class in New $4 Trillion budget




US President Barack Obama has announced a $4 trillion budget for 2016 that will increase taxes on Americans who earn higher incomes, and provide tax relief for the middle-class.
Obama stated that his proposal would “help working families feel more secure with paychecks that go further,” Al Jazeera reports.

2 Nigerian soldiers injured in clash with Delta youth – Official

The Nigerian Navy said on Monday that two of its officers were injured in a skirmish between its officers and youth of Ode-Ugborodo community in Warri South-West Area of Delta State. The Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship, Delta, Musa Gemu, confirmed the incident to journalists at a naval base in Warri.
Mr. Gemu, a Captain, however, declined to give further details about the attack, promising to issue a statement at the “appropriate time.’’
Femi Uwaway, a member of Ugborodo Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Interface Committee, also confirmed the incident, but called it a little skirmish.
The incident occurred barely four days after a reported military action in the community to restore peace and resettle persons displaced by a recent crisis in the area.

Woman, three children found shot dead in Australian farmhouse – police

 POLICE have confirmed they are searching a New South Wales farm for a father aged in his 40s after a woman and three children were found shot dead inside their farmhouse west of Wagga Wagga.
Australian police said Tuesday a woman and three children aged under 10 have been found dead, apparently from gunshot wounds, in a rural farmhouse and they are searching a man aged in his 40s.

Atiku calls urgent meeting over Adamawa election, security

Former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Atiku Abubakar, has called for an urgent meeting of critical stakeholders in Adamawa State to ensure a free and fair governorship election in the state on October 11. The former Vice President made the call against the backdrop of the need to maintain security in the state and fears being expressed about the probable suffocation of the sovereignty of the people by the prevailing emergency rule in the state.
