Atiku calls urgent meeting over Adamawa election, security

Former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Atiku Abubakar, has called for an urgent meeting of critical stakeholders in Adamawa State to ensure a free and fair governorship election in the state on October 11. The former Vice President made the call against the backdrop of the need to maintain security in the state and fears being expressed about the probable suffocation of the sovereignty of the people by the prevailing emergency rule in the state.

P-Square, Wizkid release album track list

                   


Nigerian pop artistes, Psquare and EME golden boy, Wizkid, have released the track list and titles of their respective anticipated albums. PSquare will release what would be their sixth studio album titled “Double Trouble” on September 12, while Wizkid will release his second studio album, Ayo (Joy) on a yet to be announced date. The album, according to the artiste, would be his last with record label. Psquare recently dropped three singles and a video for EjeAjo, featuring American rapper, T.I. Double Trouble, a 13 track album, features African music icon, Awilo, as well as Jackson Five’s Jermaine Jackson. Other featured artistes are Dave Scott on Bring it On and producer, Don Jazzy on Collabo. Wizkid’s 18-track album is coming after over a year’s delay.

Airports Remodeling: Aviation Minister Orders Contractors Back to Site

Seven months after airports remodeling projects were abandoned, Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka has ordered contractors handling the projects to return to site with immediate effect and complete all pending jobs without further delay.
Contractors handling the remodeling work at the 22 airports under the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had abandoned the project because the FAAN and Ministry of Aviation stopped funding them shortly after the removal of former minister, Ms. Stella Oduah in February last year.

Serena Williams Gets $4 Million for Winning US Open

Tennis superstar, Serena Williams, has been given $4 million for winning the US Open!
This is the 6th time in history that she has won the tournament. Her victory also means this is her 18th Grand Slam singles title.
The final match of the tournament took place in Flushing Meadows, New York on Sunday, September 7th.
Williams, who is ranked as the number one tennis player in the world, defeatedCaroline Wozniacki 6-3 6-3 in straight sets, BBC reports.

Leaked Video Shows NFL Star Ray Rice Punching Wife in Elevator

Leaked footage of Baltimore Ravens football player, Ray Rice punching his wife in an elevator, has been posted online.
In the video, Rice is shown punching Janay Palmer, his then fiancee, in the face twice, knocking her out. He then drags her unconscious body out of the elevator.
The incident took place in an elevator at Revel Hotel in Atlantic City on February 15th this year, The Independent reports

Boko Haram: Adamawa varsity students stranded as school closes

                          


The authorities of Adamawa State University, Mubi, has announced indefinite closure of the institution due to the fear of possible attack from insurgents.
This is contained in a statement by Malam Hassan Tanko, Acting Registrar of the institution, in Yola on Sunday.
